So this is a little outside of my normal styling blog postings, but I wanted to share/spread more awareness of how important working out is during your pregnancy. Plus, I’ll give you a look at some of the work out wear that I am wearing during my pregnancy :-).
Aside from getting the strange looks at the gym (am I the only one?!) my fitness routine includes more of a relaxed regime. Routines such as yoga, the elliptical, light weight machines and the stair master are all in my weekly schedule ranging from 2-4 days a week. The important thing is to listen to your body: if you feel too strained or something is hurting, stop or slow your routine down. But overall, both my doctors revealed to me that light working out is important for you and your little bundle of joy.
Working out not only prepares the body for delivery, but it aids your body into getting back into tip top shape postpartum. And we all want that right? 😛
Okay, now onto the maternity work out attire!
Top – This lucy top from Dicks Sporting Goods is absolutely amazing for maternity wear! It is not a maternity top but it has a flattering loose mid-section that also has a fitted feel to it. I went ahead and sized up and it just feels amazing. Bonus: It has a built in bra, so no having to deal with two tops coinciding together and constricting your girls ;-P.
Bottoms – These leggings from Dicks Sporting Goods are not maternity, but the fit and feel of them fit perfect around my 31 week belly and it is great that I will have them postpartum rather than purchasing strictly maternity leggings. They come in black as well!
Sneakers – These athletic shoes from Kohl’s have incredible support with a sole insert. I wear these to the gym, on a jog, or just for daily use. As our pregnant bellies get bigger, our feet tend to wear out and get swollen. I have found that these shoes have given me such great comfort all throughout my pregnancy!
Sports Bra – This Reebok Sports Bra is also not maternity but is the most comfortable sports bra I own. I purchased it while I was in the third trimester and it is one of the best decisions I’ve made. Not only is it uber comfortable with it’s seamless shape, but it also has a neat crossback style in the back that is all of the rage in workout attire.
